The (correct size) seal I purcased at Home Depot does not "snap in" like in the video. The panel box has limited access, and I forgot to install the seal before mounting the box. I WISH it would snap in with finger pressure!

White is no longer allowed for switch loops. Even if marked or identified. So now you have to buy cable with black,red,white, and green or bare. The white must be called off or connected to a neutral conductor. This is because the white wire at a switch may be needed for the new smart switches and devices that need a neutral to function.

Do you honestly expect 4 screws holding the junction box to that plywood to be strong enough to hold a rotating and vibrating fan? At minimum you should be using bolts and washers to keep the junction box secured to the wood. Over time, those screws are going to work themselves loose and then someone is in for a very bad day when that fan hits them on the head.

The canopy cover is an important safety feature....it acts as a second line of security to stop the fan falling down if the ball bracket fails...if you leave the screw out then you risk the fan falling and injuring someone...it should tell you that in the instructions
